Let mew1 and mew2 denote true average densities for two different types of brick. assuming normality of the two density distributions, test Ho: mew1-mew2=0 vs Hamew1-mew2 does not=0 using the following data: m=6, xbar=22.73, s1= .164, n=5, ybar=21.95 and s2= .240.

there is a solution for this problem on cramster, it is #18 from section 9.2 in the book “Probability and Statistics for Engineering and the Sciences 8th Edition” byJay L. Devore. However in cramster's solution, they test the hypothesis using aplha=.05 an since the problem doesnt mention that at all or any value for alpha, I waswondering where they got that from. I was thinking you should test it using a P-value but I also don't know how to do that. Thanks for the help.
