The most fun essay of all is the Narrative. This discussion board exercise should assist you in writing your Narrative Essay and help you to see whether you have a focus and clear point to your story. Take a piece of paper and divide it into three columns. In the first, write what you believe is the subject of your paper in the beginning. In the middle, list the events or moments that lead up to the ending. In the third, try to name the resolution, or the moral of the story. The events in the middle column are called a “ladder.” They are the steps that develop the story. All narratives should begin with something concrete, build, and end up with an abstract concept. For instance: “I remember the day I found the pink sunglasses in the sand.” Concrete. “I saw him walking toward me. / We ate hotdogs as the sun went down. / I lost the sunglasses in the water as we splashed and laughed.” Ladder “That summer I fell in love with a boy and life.”

MARRIAGE

Marriage is an important institution in the life of human being. I am married to a beautiful young lady named Samantha. She is truly my soulmate. My marriage happened in a manner that makes it difficult to understand even up to this point. I influenced by my friends who are also my age mates. At the age of 27, they were all married.

In a group of four people, I was the bachelor. The pressure was mounting from all the quarters, therefore, I had to do something to get even. In my mind, I knew I was not ready for marriage but I had to get into one because I was under pressure. In January 2016, I decided to propose to my girlfriend Samantha who luckily agreed to marry me. I was happy for the acceptance but inwardly I was burning with thoughts and fear. I was not ready for marriage and up to now I still feel I should not have gotten married.

Before I got married to this beautiful lady, I tried confiding to my friends about my worries but they could not here none of it. Instead, they ridiculed me and called me names. They chided me with all manner of words which created a dent in my ego. I had to do something. That is when I decided to get married, be like them and live like them. It was not an easy decision to be sincere and I still feel the burden of that decision.

One of the many instances that pushed me to propose to Samantha was a social gathering that we were invited. Rules of attendance included; attending with your spouse, strictly your spouse not a girlfriend. I was not able to attend that function and I become the object of ridicule the following day. I had to hide from my friend in some cases and I did not like the treatment at all.

My marriage has made my life miserable. The fears that I had before marriage turn to be miseries. I am not happy anymore. I do not enjoy things that I used to enjoy in my life. For example, I am a quiet and I love my space. I hate when someone tries to control whatever I am doing or planning to do. Right now I feel I am under captivity because I am forced to consult my wife in everything that I am doing or planning to do. I must tell her when I am leaving the house and inform her where I am going to. I feel like it is too much for me. I cannot go out alone the way I used to do in some moments.

Recently, to be precise; March 2017 I decided to have a rare moment to myself. I went out without informing anybody even my wife. I am regretting that day up to this moment I am writing this essay. Every time we get into a confrontation, I have to be reminded about that day. It is not pleasing at all. I later told her that I needed time alone in some place but she did not agree. In fact never accepted my apologies in regards to that issue. I am always reminded of the same issue when we have a fight. I feel like I am losing it.

My ultimate point in this paper is to inform people who are not married and are not ready to get married. It is important to listen to oneself and make a decision based on what you feel and think. People should never allow those who are close to them to influence their decision in whatever the circumstance. One should stand strong in what they believe in or the decision they make. Doing something because others are doing it only results to unfulfilling life. Right now I think about ending my married and soon I will inform my wife that I am not ready yet to be a husband.
