Read the article on Amazon in your module Reading and Resources folder. Then, in your group, discuss what you believe are the best decisions Amazon has made in regards to its distribution network. Also discuss where you think it is losing balance in either cost or service with its strategy and implementation. When formulating your discussion, be sure to consider:

  • What is the cost versus service return on “free” two-day shipping for Prime members?
  • Has Amazon effectively leveraged transportation services?
  • What innovations is Amazon working on that may tip the scales in its favor for either cost or service?
