The Mitutoyo 300mm height gauge used for hotwire air velocity measurement has been adapted with a NEMA 17 stepper motor control to facilitate remote height adjustment.

The height was originally set by a dial adjustment on the back of the unit, this has been removed. The modified setup will allow height adjustment via potentiometer adjustment or analog input of 0.5 to 4.5VDC amplitude to allow 0 – 300mm displacement.

The Nema 17 uses a Pololu Tic 1825 controller board fully setup with forward and reverse limit

switches to protect the mechanism.
